Bubba Visits A Senior Citizens Home

June 19, 2010

When Tucker (who is Bubbas event coordinator) was asked if Bubba would do a special guest appearance at a Seniors home he jumped at the chance.

The red bus Bubba took for the seniors to see that is parked in front of Bubbas limo will be featured next week here on the website. It is the bus that was used in the movie Hoosiers and we will share the story with you.

All of us here at Bubbas East Coast Rods & Customs realize the supreme contribution our seniors made for America.

During  WW II they were forged together by a common goal,  FREEDOM!
Here in the USA the civilian population converted factories and they tirelessly went to work building the equipment our fellow Americans needed in Europe and the South Pacific to heroically stand toe to toe and fight against dangerous dictators like Hitler and oppose tyranny and oppression.
They fought in the worst of conditions and asked for nothing in return. They wanted to keep us safe and free when they were called to duty.
Drive, determination and sheer guts forged them forward and sadly we lose 1500 of these fine Americans a day.

It is for this reason Bubba immediately accepted the invitation to visit and address these amazing people.
Everyone at Bubbas cannot give enough thanks to such an AMAZING generation.

At EVERY level EVERY adult citizen was touched by WW II. From the mother who hand laundered her childrens clothing while their father/husband was away  keeping us safe to the B17 pilot and his crew flying at 30,000 feet in the freezing December skies over Europe with no heat in the airplane, they all came together as one to keep us safe from harm.
They knew the risks, accepted them and rose to the challenge without asking anything in return.

Today, their hands are full of arthritis, bones ache and eyes are tired.

So, today as we grumble about how hot we are or our food was not good enough or we were somehow inconvenienced lets us stop and reflect on those who know a little about no air conditioning, lousy food and inconvenience.

Tonight, as we say our prayers and give thanks for another day in America, the land of the free and home of the brave lets remember them and all of our Veterans from all wars, the sacrifices they made and how blessed we are in this country. Let us try to awaken to a new day with a new beginning with a better attitude and to make a positive impact on someones life just as they did for us.

We are all better people because of them and may God bless them all and keep them close to him.
